Designing an agency site is always an awesome assignment. It allows you to reflect upon your time there and assess the health of the agency as a whole. Fortunately for me, this is the third time I've had an opportunity to design hlkagency.com. The process has been rewarding every time. HLK has gone through a lot of change in the six years I have been there. We've transitioned to a creatively-led, people-first agency. We've added some big clients to our roster. But most importantly, the partners have made it a priority to foster a creative culture throughout the agency. It's been really cool to witness/be a part of.
We partnered with Bruton Stroube to create video that would be used throughout the site. We really wanted to take a look into the moments that make the agency what it is. You'll see interesting crops of photography that make the activity the focal point, not the person. We saved the close-ups for the home page. Another thing we really tried to focus on was our process and thinking. You'll find incredibly robust case studies with wireframes, sketches and behind-the-scenes photography. My favorite page is #hlkToday, a social media aggregator that gives users a look into whats happening at HLK each and everyday.
