When the folks over at LaunchCode approached me to help them with their rebrand I was flattered. If you're not familiar, LaunchCode is an orgazination, founded by Square's Jim McKelvey, that aims to pair aspiring developers with employers that make them better. They provide education services, meetups, and even started an initiative to increase the amount of female developers throughout the industry.
Creating a brand and an experience that felt technical/credible, but still felt approachable was a challenge. We wanted to create mark that would work on a number of applications. What we ended up with was a system that plays well on t-shirts and in navigation headers. The site is driven by video content and big, relatable imagery. Copy is friendly and encouraging and is supplemented by testimonials from many of LaunchCode's success stories.
